Privacy Policy

At PulseCity, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data — fully compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data Controller

Your data is processed by the service provider listed in the Imprint. For questions: privacy@pulse-city.app

2. Data We Collect

Account data: email, username, profile photo, year of birth (for age check)
Location data: only when you use the app and grant permission — for showing nearby users/events
Activity data: events you create/join, messages you send
Device/technical data: OS, app version, IP address (only briefly for security logs)

3. Legal Basis

Processing is based on (a) contract performance to deliver the service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), (b) your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) — e.g. location), and (c) legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) — security, fraud prevention).

4. Retention Period

Account data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, all data is removed within 30 days (legal retention obligations excepted). Event messages are deleted 90 days after event completion.

5. Data Sharing

We never sell your data to third parties. We share only for the following purposes:

Cloud hosting: Microsoft Azure (Frankfurt, EU servers)
Authentication: Google Sign-In (only if you sign in with Google)
Maps: Mapbox (map display only — no personal data shared)
Push notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (only push token, no identity)

Exercising Your Rights

From within the app: Profile → Data & Privacy to delete your account or export your data. You can also email privacy@pulse-city.app to exercise any right.
